Hi people, I believe we are all doing fine. It is great to be back after quite a long break. On the agenda today is a very essential aspect or ingredient for a successful life.

Self-control is the decision to put your will or desire under subjection. It has a lot to do with the mind. Discipline is not possible without self-control. Self-control is a process. It does not come easy. You need to work towards it in becoming a habit or lifestyle.

One way to have self-control is to subdue your flesh and always walk in the spirit. This is because our failure to have self-control on certain things is a product of our strong desire for pleasure or satisfying our flesh. For instance, abstaining from sexual activities, demands a high level of self-control to achieve that goal since it requires you subdue your flesh or strong will, by deliberately living by and walking in the spirit. Self-Control is a decision you make. You can also pray for it, but it has to be a conscious effort to resist certain bad habits or sins. Remember that the only antedote to canality is spirituality. To be consistent in self-control, you must be spiritual and conscious of your decision to say NO to those bad habits.

Another way to have self-control is by keeping the right company and drawing boundaries in your life. Cut off from friends that will influence you negatively or keep you in those bad habits. Also, mind the books you read, where you go and what you watch. They can either help or destroy your goal of living a life of self-control.

Lastly, take sure you have boundaries in life. You own your decisions. Nobody should decide for you. Wrong is wrong even if everyone is doing it and Right is right if no one is doing it. Be firm and strong to NO to things or people that add nothing to life, and YES to those that can influence your life positively or bring a change to.

On that note, I want to encourage us to work our way into living a life of self-control. Receive grace for that. I believe you have been blessed by this. Please do not hesitate to comment and share. God bless you. Catch you next time on another interesting topic.
